I love what the Apertus project is doing, a while ago I got in contact with Sebastian, and I’ve been emailing Flavio Soares who has been filming with the Elphel, but I haven’t had the opportunity to visit anyone involved with the project yet. I would love to do an interview and check out the camera. I will try to organise something in the next few months.

You should use an open source camera to film yourself like the one we are developing at Apertus. A prototype is under construction another one running and made with an Elphel open source industrial camera.

If you like free art – especially free music – check out our plattform “Neppstar” which we started 10 years ago. We use the “Lizenz für freie Inhalte v1.0 im Sinne von http://www.neppstar.net” which is comparable to GNU-GPL for free software. Some of the music-stuff can well be used for videos.

Although I no longer have a personal facebook account I do have Year of Open Source twitter and facebook project accounts. This is because the target audience for my project is not necessarily people who already use free software and hack their hardware, but rather it’s about reaching out to people who don’t already know about these ideas. Those people, unfortunately, are on facebook and twitter.
